ABOUT CGCED

 

The Center for Global Cancer Early Detection (CGCED) contributes strategically to the development of prognostic and predictive markers, as well as other diagnostics for the early detection of cancer.  These distinct strategies for early detection are prioritized on the basis of country-specific cancer demographics, modifiable risk factor distribution, and existing treatment resource availability.

 

CGCED is a component of the MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Moon Shots Program, designed to bring together the best attributes of industry and academic knowledge.  These resources are not only used to create tools, tests, and devices, but to also drive policies that benefit patients and accelerate the pace of converting scientific discoveries into clinical advances that reduce cancer deaths.

 

CGCED is led by reputable scientists with many years of expertise in the areas of proteomics, statistics, epidemiology, and medical diagnostics.

 

Current CGCED projects include colon, lung, liver, and pancreas with global reaches to China, France, and other geographic locations.
